Four days Faculty Development Programme concluded at M. M. Modi College, Patiala
Internal quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala organized UGC sponsored four days faculty development programme under the theme of “Higher education: Digital Learning and Changing Landscapes of Modern Class-Rooms’ to initiate the dialogue about latest learning techniques, knowledge retention methods and use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in education.
College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the resource persons and faculty members. He demonstrated how teachers should engage critically and intellectually with skills such as critical thinking, creativity, scientific temper, multilingualism, problem solving, ethics, social responsibility and digital literacy. These terms should be a subject of further explorations and discussions among teachers. He emphasized on the need for juxtaposition of conventional philosophy of learning with latest technology to make education society friendly. On the second day of the programme Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Assistant professor, GHG Khalsa College, Gurusar Sudhar discussed the importance of MOOCs courses and the strategically changes in the area of teaching. He said that the use of multimedia and digital technology is the need of the hour for making learning student friendly. During the four days programme, resource persons of repute from different universities discussed and debated the different aspects and perspectives of the changing learning techniques.
Dr. Tejinder Kaur, Professor, Department of English, RIMT University, Mandi Gobindgarh talked about cultivating effective communication skills in English among students. Dr. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Dean Languages, Punjabi University, Patiala discussed the changes in the teaching and learning of languages. Dr. Gurpreet Singh Josan, Professor, Department of Computer Science, Punjabi University Patiala talked about “Feature extraction and classifiers’ and their significance in management of data. Dr. R. S. Singh, Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Punjabi University, Patiala discussed the ‘Genetically modified foods’ and how they are changing the food chains of our eco-systems. Dr. J. S. Pasricha, Professor, Department of Commerce, Punjabi University, Patiala discussed the ‘Recent developments in Financial Markets’ Dr. Amit Kulshrestha, Associate Professor And Head, Department of Mathematical Sciences, ISSER, Mohali discussed applicable aspects of linear algebra in day to day life that the teaching of mathematics is undergoing a digitized reinvention due to latest softwares available. Prof. Sadhu Singh, Former Professor, Mahindra College, Patiala demonstrated the principles and working of different electrical equipments in the practical learning of Physics. During this programme the faculty learned to use different digital resources, their usages, multimedia techniques and methods of digitalized knowledge production. Dr. Ajit Kumar, Registrar, Dr. Ganesh Sethi, Prof. Vinay Garg and Dr. Harmohan Sharma discussed with the faculty members various digital platforms and digital resources for research and teaching purpose. All the experts were honoured in the valedictory function. The Program was attended by all the faculty members. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof. Shilendra Sidhu, Head, Department of English.

ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਚਾਰ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ
ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ਇੰਟਰਨਲ ਕੁਆਲਿਟੀ ਇੰਸ਼ੋਰੈਂਸ ਸੈੱਲ (ਆਈ.ਕਿਊ.ਏ.ਸੀ) ਵੱਲੋਂ ਯੂ.ਜੀ.ਸੀ. ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਚਾਰ ਰੋਜ਼ਾ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਡਿਵੈਲਪਮੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਅੱਜ ਸਮਾਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ। ਇਹ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ‘ਉਚੇਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ : ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਲਰਨਿੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਗਲੋਬਲੀ ਸੰਦਰਭ ਵਿਚ ਨਵੇਂ ਕਲਾਸ ਰੂਮ’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਰਗਤ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਤੇ ਪੜਾਉਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਤਿ ਆਧੁਨਿਕ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਕਰਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆਨ-ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਦੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦੇਣ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਫ਼ਾਰਮੇਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਮਿਊਨੀਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜੀਜ਼ (ਆਈ.ਸੀ.ਟੀ) ਦਾ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਤੇ ਅਧਾਰਿਤ ਸੀ।
ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਵਿਚ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਲੋਚਨਾਤਮਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀਆਂ, ਸਿਰਜਣਾਤਮਿਕ ਢੰਗਾਂ, ਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਏ, ਬਹੁ-ਭਾਸ਼ਾਈ ਸੰਵਾਦ, ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਭਾਵੀ ਹੱਲਾਂ, ਨੈਤਿਕਤਾ, ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਜਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਲਿਟਰੇਸੀ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਧਾਰਨਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਜ਼ਮਾਤਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸੁਚੱਜੇ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨਤਮ ਗਿਆਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਰਸ਼ਨਿਕਤਾ ਦਾ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਮੇਲ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਾਜਿਕ ਭਲਾਈ ਵੱਲ ਸੇਧਿਤ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਡਾ. ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਰਚਾ, ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ, ਜੀ.ਸੀ.ਜੀ. ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਗੁਰੂਸਰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਨੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪਣਾਲੀ ਦੇ ਤਹਿਤ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੇ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਕ ਕੋਰਸਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰਾਂਤੀਕਾਰੀ ਤਬਦੀਲੀਆਂ ਆ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਹੈ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਮਲਟੀਮੀਡੀਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਡੀਓ-ਵਿਜ਼ੂਅਲ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਚਾਰ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹੁੰਚੇ ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਤਕਨੀਕ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਯੁਗ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਿਖਾਉਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।
ਡਾ. ਤੇਜਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ, ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਰਿਮਿਟ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਮੰਡੀ ਗੋਬਿੰਦਗੜ੍ਹ ਨੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿਚ ਮੁਹਾਰਤ ਹਾਸਿਲ ਕਰਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਡਾ. ਸਤਨਾਮ ਸਿੰਘ ਸੰਧੂ ਡੀਨ, ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਡਾ. ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੋਸਨ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ, ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਆਫ਼ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ‘ਫੀਚਰ ਐਕਸਟ੍ਰੈਕਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾਸੀਫਾਇਰਜ਼’ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੋਲਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਡੀ ਪੱਧਰ ‘ਤੇ ਡਾਟਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਵਸਥਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਡਾ. ਆਰ.ਐੱਸ. ਸਿੰਘ, ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਆਫ਼ ਬਾਇਓਟੈਕਨਾਲੋਜ਼ੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ‘ਜੈਨੇਟਿਕਲੀ ਮੌਡੀਫ਼ਾਈਡ ਫੂਡਜ਼’ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਾਤਾਵਰਨ-ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਾਂ ਵਿਚਲੀਆਂ ਭੋਜਨ-ਲੜੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲ ਕੇ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਡਾ. ਜੇ.ਐੱਸ. ਪਸਰੀਚਾ, ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ, ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਆਫ਼ ਕਾਮਰਸ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ‘ਪੂੰਜੀ-ਬਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਸੰਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਤੇ ਚੁਨੌਤੀਆਂ’ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ‘ਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਡਾ. ਅਮਿਤ ਕੁਲਸ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾ, ਅਸੋਸੀਏਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੁਖੀ, ਡਿਪਾਰਟਮੈਂਟ ਆਫ ਮੈਥੇਮੈਟੀਕਲ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼, ਆਈ.ਐੱਸ.ਈ.ਆਰ. ਮੁਹਾਲੀ ਨੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੀਨੀਅਰ ਅਲਜ਼ਬਰਾ ਦੀ ਰੋਜ਼ਮਰਾ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿਚ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸਾਧੂ ਸਿੰਘ, ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰੋਫ਼ੈਸਰ, ਮਹਿੰਦਰਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਫਿਜ਼ੀਕਲ ਦੀ ਉਚੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਕਟੀਕਲ ਪੜਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਇਲੈਕਟੀਕਲ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ, ਡਿਜ਼ੀਟਲ ਲਾਇਬ੍ਰੇਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਣ-ਪੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਗਿਆਨ-ਭੰਡਾਰਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਨਮਾਨ ਚਿੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਨਮਾਨਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਦਾ ਸਮੁੱਚਾ ਸਟਾਫ ਹਾਜ਼ਿਰ ਸੀ।
ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਡਾ. ਗਣੇਸ਼ ਸੇਠੀ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਵਿਨੇ ਗਰਗ ਅਤੇ ਡਾ. ਹਰਮੋਹਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਲਈ ਭਰਪੂਰ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਸ਼ਲਿੰਦਰਾ ਸਿੱਧੂ ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
